File Retention Policy
Most online PDF services publish a retention period — an hour, a day, a week. This page exists to explain why ezyPDF doesn't have one.
There is nothing to retain
A retention period describes how long a company keeps a copy of your file after receiving it. ezyPDF never receives one. Every available tool runs in your browser, so no copy is ever created outside your device.
Where your data actually lives while you work
- In the memory of the browser tab, for as long as that tab is open.
- Temporarily as an object URL when a result is prepared for download, which we release once the download starts.
- In your Downloads folder, if you save the result. That copy is yours to manage.
What ends the work
Closing the tab, refreshing the page, or navigating away discards everything in progress. There is no recovery, so download anything you need before you leave.
Shared computers
Processing in the browser removes the risk of a file sitting on someone else's server, but it does not clean up after you locally. On a shared or public computer, remove downloaded results and close the browser when you finish.
If this ever changes
Some features — high-fidelity Office conversion, character recognition at scale, password removal — would need server processing. We will not add such a feature silently. If one is ever introduced it will be labelled as server-processed on its own page, and this policy will state the retention period that applies to it before it launches.
