Sign PDF — Currently in the Works

"Signing" means two things. One is laying a signature image onto the document; the other is an electronic signature that proves the document's integrity and the signer with a certificate. The former is just editing that attaches a picture and has nothing to do with legal effect.

This page accepts no file or signature data.

What you can do today

  • If you just need a signature image

Make a page containing your signature image, convert it to PDF, and merge it — that works today with the tools already here.

  • If you need legal effect

Use a qualified e-signature or contract service. Placing a picture on a document does not create legal effect.

Offering both under the same name could make users misunderstand the effect. An electronic signature needs integration with a certificate authority and a verification system, so we plan to introduce it in stages after clearly separating the two.

How are your files handled?

This page has no file picker, so no data is processed. See the Privacy Policy and File Retention Policy for details.

Sign PDF FAQ

Does attaching a signature image make a contract valid?
It depends on the document type and the parties' agreement, and the image itself doesn't guarantee effect. For important contracts, use an electronic signature service.
